After a season break, the Lithuanian football champions' cup has returned to Vilnius. With four rounds remaining until the championship's end, "Žalgiris" fought for its 22nd victory, increased the gap to 13 points, and secured gold medals for themselves.

"Žalgiris" became the country's champions for the 11th time in the club's history and for the 8th time since the club's revival.

The golden match took place in Alytus against "Dainava," which was decisively won by the Žalgiris team with a score of 5:0. In the first half, Paulius Golubickas and Liviu Antalis scored one goal each, while Giedrius Matulevičius, Nemanja Mihajlovičius, and L. Antalis all found the net in the second half.

The Žalgiris team took the initiative from the start of the match and took the lead in the 22nd minute. After intercepting the ball in the middle of the field, L. Antalis passed to P. Golubickas, who, one-on-one, shot inaccurately.

Several minutes later, a penalty was awarded for a foul against G. Matulevičius. In the 29th minute, L. Antalis scored accurately from the penalty mark, increasing his goal tally to 17.
At the beginning of the second half, "Dainava" also had a chance – D. Rakičius headed the ball inaccurately from close range.

Soon after, "Žalgiris" scored a third time – after a combination between L. Antalis and G. Matulevičius on the flank, P. Golubickas received the loose ball and assisted G. Matulevičius for the goal.

Later, A. Tordai saved the Žalgiris goal a couple of times, and once "Dainava" missed a good opportunity to score.

In the 70th and 74th minutes, two more goals were scored. Initially, after L. Antalis' pass from the flank, N. Mihajlovičius scored from close range, and a few minutes later, the two players switched roles, with L. Antalis scoring.

The next match for the Žalgiris team will be on October 26 in Širvintos.

The trophy and gold medal ceremony is scheduled for the next home match of "Žalgiris," on November 3 in Vilnius.
