V.Montella: we could not buy top level players

After a 0:2 defeat to Turin's "Juventus" club, the head coach of the home team Vincenzo Montella tried to explain the reasons for the loss.

Last summer, the representatives of the Italian fashion capital spent over 200 million euros on new players, but now they are only in 8th place in the local league.

“Not everyone has players like Gonzalo Higuain. The match was decided by a top-level footballer who scored two goals out of nowhere. Such athletes cost at least 100 million euros and they do not come to clubs that do not play in the UEFA Champions League. Of course, I am happy with what we have been able to achieve in the player market,” Montella said.

“Look at the 'Juventus' club. They have built the team for a long time, are experienced, and now they include young talents in the squad, even though their goal is to win the Champions League.”

“Last summer, optimism had increased because high-level achievements are possible if pursued in the right way, even if some events may complicate the path,” he added.
