Wayne Rooney will be remembered at "Manchester United" after the end of his career.
The 31-year-old striker for the England national team scored the equalizing goal in the 22nd round of the English Premier League against Stoke City and rewrote the history of the Man Utd club.
The amazing W. Rooney goal against Stoke City was his 250th for the "Red Devils" team. Playing in the attacking midfielder position in recent seasons, the Englishman surpassed the legendary club footballer Bobby Charlton, who scored 249 goals from 1956 to 1973.
W. Rooney reached the milestone of 250 goals in 546 matches with Man Utd. The footballer arrived in Manchester back in 2004, when Man Utd paid around 26 million pounds sterling for the then 18-year-old.
After achieving the exceptional record, the captain of Man Utd said: "It is a great honor to reach this record. The goal came in the last minute, but the result was not the best, so it is hard to celebrate. We lost two points, but I am proud of this record. It is something you can't expect when you arrive at the club, but I am very happy. It has been a great and very successful journey that should continue."
