Despite the urging of his teammates to stay, Liverpool's Everton management hope that Wayne Rooney's decision to move to MLS will not change. This was revealed by the English newspaper "Daily Mirror".
The forward was previously pushed towards leaving due to disagreements with coach Sam Allardyce, but he has since been dismissed, so the Englishman may change his mind.
However, Everton's owner Farhad Moshiri would be more pleased if Rooney moved to "DC United", with whom he has almost agreed on a contract.
This would significantly reduce the Merseyside club's expenses on salaries.
This season, the 32-year-old player played 41 matches in all competitions, scoring a total of 11 goals and providing three assists.
