And England's national team striker Wayne Rooney has been given a two-match suspension for a red card received during the UEFA Champions League match against "Villarreal," UEFA's official website reported on Tuesday.
In the second half of those matches, the young Englishman immediately received two yellow cards - one for a foul, and the other for sarcastically applauding the match referee, Danish Kim Milton Nielsen, for the first yellow card.
The referee stated after the match that as W. Rooney was leaving, he made insulting remarks and cursed.
"There is no doubt that W. Rooney committed two offenses at once, received two yellow cards, and demonstrated unsportsmanlike behavior," said the statement of the UEFA Disciplinary Committee. "For this, he is given a two-match suspension."
The 19-year-old W. Rooney will have to miss two UEFA Champions League home matches against Lisbon's "Benfica" and "Lille."
"Man Utd" has the right to appeal until midnight on Friday.
