Former England national team captain Wayne Rooney was arrested in the US for public intoxication.
W. Rooney, who now plays for DC United, was detained after an incident at Washington Airport, which is near the club's stadium.
According to the police statement: "He was arrested by the Washington police for alcohol consumption on December 16. He was later released on bail."
Reportedly, the striker received a $25 fine and an additional $91 for this not being his first offense. It is also noted that the Englishman was penalized for swearing in a public place.
Earlier, the Englishman was punished for driving under the influence.
