The attacker admitted on his website that on Saturday, after the match with "Betis", he got into a fight with insulting fans.
The Costa Rican stated that the fight started with the fans themselves: "It all started when they shouted insulting phrases at me through a megaphone. I didn't back down and went to the stands to ask that fan to repeat everything to my face if he felt like a man. Then he spat on me and I had to defend myself. At that moment, another fan hit me from behind."
"The police and my teammates separated us, but the same group started making monkey noises and shouting that I am a black piece of s***," explained the "Malaga" attacker. "Such racist statements hurt me a lot."
"I thought it all over and I think I should not have behaved like that," Wanchope explained. "I should have controlled myself, but it was very difficult to do so because of the racist phrases."
The 28-year-old former "Manchester City" attacker arrived in Malaga last summer. Currently, "Malaga" is in 12th place in the Spanish championship.
