Warning about the appearance of fake European Championship tickets

The European Consumer Center in Austria reports that five months before the start of the championship, counterfeit tickets for this year's European Football Championship in France have appeared on the market.

In 2016, from June 10 to July 10, the UEFA European Football Championship will take place in France. Tickets can only be purchased through the official UEFA platform: euro2016.tickets.uefa.com

Nevertheless, the EVC in Austria has already received complaints about counterfeit or undelivered tickets and complaints about unfair sellers. To warn consumers, EVC in Austria has prepared some advice on how to safely purchase tickets online.

Purchasing tickets for UEFA Euro 2016:

* Order tickets from an official UEFA ticket vendor.

* Print out all order information and keep it safe, so you have proof in case of a dispute. Screenshots also work.

* Do not trust exclusive or special offers on the internet or ticket offers to events that are sold out.

* Sometimes ticket offices miscalculate quantities and print more tickets than necessary. In this case, you do not have to accept inferior compensation (tickets in worse seats or for other matches), but you can request a refund for the tickets.

* If you paid for tickets with a credit card and did not receive them, contact your credit card issuer (bank) the day after the competition and request in writing that they refund the money for the tickets because the seller failed to provide the contracted service.

* If you did not receive tickets and failed to get a refund, your only option is to contact the police.
