Warning signal 'A league': 'Knights' on the brink of bankruptcy © lff.lt

In Lithuania's "A lyga," there may soon be only nine teams left.

Tv3.lt journalist Mantas Krasnickas reports that the Vilnius "Riteriai," which returned to the highest division of the country's football this year, are on the brink of extinction.

Even before the season, there were doubts about the financial stability of "Riteriai," but at that time, the club introduced new investors from Singapore, who were supposed to improve this situation.

However, it seems that after just four rounds in the "A lyga," "Riteriai" have found themselves on the edge of a precipice.

The poor situation of "Riteriai" was confirmed to the portal "Tv3.lt" by the President of the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF), Edgaras Stankevičius.

This weekend the matches will take place, but what will happen next? In the coming days, we will see, but I do not rule out the saddest predictions. Given what Janas says, what Singapore is saying, we may come to the club's bankruptcy. Of course, we will try, we will look for someone who could take over "Riteriai." I am working on this issue, but anything can happen,

Stankevičius stated openly to the portal "Tv3.lt."

So what is the problem with the new investors from Singapore? Does any realize that players are brought to this club and singed contracts with mutual rights and obligations.A lot of these players could have gone to other clubs during the transfer window. Now they will be left on the street without club? Really? Well, I believe that UEFA and FIFA should investigate what was, actually, going on in the club while players being brought to this club during the past transfer window. Playing with lives of young people, sportsmen like that is outrageous
