While France's star Kylian Mbappe amazed the whole world at the planet's championships, Christian Pulisic watched it all on TV from 7000 kilometers away, as the US national team did not make it to the strongest tournament.
Although the American acknowledged that he wanted to take a break from football after the end of the season, the Borussia Dortmund talent Pulisic could not afford to miss the World Cup.
"I really tried to take a few weeks off from football after the season. But that doesn't mean I wasn't following everything that was happening. I really enjoy watching this game and I really enjoyed watching the World Cup. Of course, I would have loved to play there myself, but it was a fantastic tournament. I couldn't afford to miss such a tournament," said C. Pulisic.
The footballer was asked if the amazing performance of K. Mbappe inspired him for the next season.
"Without a doubt. It definitely inspired me when I saw how he played in this championship. Of course, I really wanted to be a part of it, but it was nice to see such a young player playing so well. He was really good," added the American.
