Antoine Griezmann put the hosts ahead in the 19th minute. The Ukrainians equalized in the 57th minute when a goal was scored by France's defender Presnel Kimpembe.
In Group E, Belgium's national team started triumphantly with a 3-1 victory at home against Wales. The visitors got off to a great start and Wales led after 10 minutes thanks to a precise strike from Harry Wilson. Kevin De Bruyne leveled the score in the 22nd minute with a great shot, and a few minutes later Thorgan Hazard put the hosts ahead. Romelu Lukaku secured Belgium's victory in the 73rd minute with a penalty.
