Only a little was missing for a sensational result in the World Cup qualifying matches.

In Group G, the Italian national team fell behind 1:2 to Macedonia in an away game, but Ciro Immobile's goals in the 75th and 90th minutes saved one of the strongest European national teams - 3:2.

In another group match, Diego Costa and Nolito's goals helped Spain win 2:0 against Albania as visitors.
