The Minister of Sports of Italy, Luca Lotti, signed an important law that will allow to further strengthen the competition in the "Serie A" championships in the future.
From now on, the money received from broadcasters will be distributed in more equal parts, and this benefit will be felt by the weaker championship clubs.
"Starting from the next season, the share of funds distributed equally will increase up to 50 percent, and the remaining money will be given to teams according to clearly defined criteria.
This reform marks the changing situation of our country's football, and the remaining matches at the end of the season will once again become important. This will happen because of the points earned.
The reduced distance between the leaders group and weaker teams will allow the championships to become more similar to the "Premier" or "Bundesliga" championships," Lotti said.
"We have done our job. By accepting this law and new stadium reconstruction standards, we hope that the leadership of "Serie A" and the country's federation will start working towards the rebirth of our football."
