Website of A league teams. Can it get any worse? © EuroFootball.com

For my first blog, I decided to dedicate it to the integration of A League teams into the global internet network. It's a common thing to have well-functioning and functional football club websites in Africa, but what about the A League? I will start with the weakest clubs, and I emphasize that I will only evaluate websites, not social networks.

Alytus "Dainava". If players complain about unpaid wages, what more can you expect from the website? News is posted, photos appear from somewhere (apparently, having a hired permanent photographer and video operator is just a dream, like for most league clubs). The design, especially of the tables, lags far behind current trends. After the season, the website died. There isn't even a Christmas greeting. 3/10

Gargždai "Banga". It is a rare case when the website works better than the team on the football field. And after the season, greetings, condolences, and not being afraid to film celebrations appear. There is no photo gallery, or I didn't find it in the confusing menu. 6/10

Klaipėda "Granitas". The website traditionally "closed" for A League after the season. The design is outdated, you wouldn't want to visit again. 3/10

Šiauliai "Šiauliai". When I found the address, I immediately stumbled upon a yellow wall. The first impression - renovation works are underway. But then I noticed a link to "news". Plus points for holiday wishes, but that's it. The yellow background is so eye-catching that you want to leave as soon as possible. But it needs to be checked out. So, the news seems to be written in the way I guess by 1995, with photos placed in thick black frames (to create a mournful mood?). Scary. 2/10

Panevėžys "Ekranas". I'm not a fan of them, but the website, its functionality should have long been an example for everyone. Here you can even see the "space" of other teams - mobile apps. Photo gallery, professional video reports. It would not be a shame for a stronger championship. 9/10

Marijampolė "Sūduva". News, some media work, shows that information is handled well, there are also greetings, the team continues to live on after the season. Of course, the design is outdated, but as Suvalkiečiai say, why change anything as long as it works? 6/10

Trakai "Trakai". At first, I thought I had entered a weather forecast website when a block with temperature and rainfall appeared in front of me. Then, after looking around, it started to become clear that I was mistaken. There are even pluses - professional photos, news updates. No holiday mood, but maybe no one missed it? Since they are the knights of the old capital, maybe Trakičiai like antiquities and therefore try to maintain a design that resembles the early days of internet discoveries? Jankauskas, Česnauskas, and other stars have money, but there is no money for the website, which any capable student could make much nicer for a few hundred litas, the money doesn't appear. 4/10

Klaipėda "Atlantas". I'll give them credit for being able to congratulate fans on holidays. When relatives and people who accidentally wandered into the stadium for A League matches, showing even a little attention to fans is necessary. Nothing good further. Neither photos, nor normal design, nor anything interesting. It's a shame for the winners. 3/10.

Pakruojis "Kruoja". The work on the website is at least minimal and even in winter, although I didn't understand why it is shifted to the left. Leftist views, like the "Roma" club? For a small town with 10,000 residents, the overall result is not bad, although from the silver winners, you would want more, and in winter maybe they could improve the appearance? 5/10

Vilnius "Žalgiris". In terms of website quality in the A League, they are undisputed leaders with "Ekranas". Basically, there is nothing missing, but what's with the English news in the mainstream Lithuanian news feed? "Žalgiris" wants to break into Europe, so maybe next season they will make more innovative decisions and get closer to the best European clubs in terms of the website's appearance and functionality? 9/10

Summary: In the A League, there are two almost perfect websites and 2-3 very average ones. The rest are tragic. It is understandable when there is no money, but it is absolutely incomprehensible when you can pay a player tens of thousands during a season and not be able to tidy up the team's face on the internet? Or maybe during the break between seasons, a miracle will happen, and at least one other club will catch up?
