The Brēmen "Werder" team has decided to take a new direction. The Bundesliga club said goodbye to the most prolific player of all time in the team's history in the German championships, Claudio Pizarro. According to "Werder" sporting director Frank Baumann, the team had the opportunity to extend the contract with the 38-year-old foreign player for another year, but did not take advantage of this opportunity. "We warned Claudio back in May that our cooperation would most likely come to an end. This was determined by many factors, for example, we want to give our young talents the opportunity to shine," said the director. In the past season, the veteran scored only one goal in 19 matches, but that did not diminish his past achievements - the Bundesliga legend from Peru has scored as many as 191 goals.
