rėmen goalkeeper Tim Wiese suffered a left knee injury and will not be able to play for six months.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who recently recovered from a serious knee injury, strained his knee ligaments in a friendly match against Rostock's "Hansa" on Saturday. T.Wiese went home on Sunday and will undergo surgery in the near future.

"We are all shocked. The situation is difficult, but we have two other excellent goalkeepers in our ranks - Andreas Reinke and Kasper Jensen," said "Werder" coach Thomas Schaaf.

Club manager Klaus Allofs added that the club promises to acquire another goalkeeper.
