The German team from Bremen has lost their defender Timo Borowski for an indefinite period of time. The defender tore the ligaments of his left knee during the weekend Bundesliga match against "Gladbach", which ended in a 2-2 draw.
It is still unclear how long T. Borowski will be out of matches, but according to the doctors, his rehabilitation will surely take at least a few weeks.
"It's sad that Tim won't be able to play for a longer period of time. However, I believe that his leg will heal quickly and he will return to the field," said "Werder" coach Thomas Schaaf.
The player himself is not very optimistic: "It's certain that I will be treating myself for a few weeks. I have no hope of returning to the field before the final stage of the season."
This season T. Borowski represented Bremen team 16 times and scored 2 goals.
There are more sad news within "Werder" team. A bacterial virus was found in the body of the team leader Miroslav Klose, which will require antibiotics for treatment. Whether the forward will be able to play is also unclear for now.
"Werder" currently holds the third place in the German league and continues to compete in the UEFA Europa League tournament, where they will face Vigo "Celta" from Spain in the round of 16.
