The young forward of the Portuguese national team and club, Hugo Almeida, will play next season in Germany - the player has been loaned to the Bremen team for a year.
According to reports, the main reason that pushed the 22-year-old player to leave his home team and move to the Bundesliga is the desire to spend more time on the field and gain experience.
Several English Premier League clubs, including Portsmouth and Tottenham, were also actively interested in acquiring this footballer, but Werder won the battle for the player and he will wear the jersey of this German club next season.
"Right now, my main desire is to spend as much time on the field as possible and I believe that in Germany I will gain invaluable experience, which I can use when I return to my homeland," Almeida said.
