On Sunday, the last two matches of the Bundesliga round took place in Aachen and Bremen, which concluded the 18th round. The duel between the representatives of Northern Germany, "Werder" and "Hannover", was won by the home team "Werder" players, who again leveled points with "Schalke". Since "Werder" has a better goal difference, the club officially occupies the first place. In the other match, the victory slipped away from the "Aachen" team, unable to maintain the lead against "Bayer".

The Bundesliga newcomers "Aachen" started the match very successfully and after half an hour had a two-goal advantage. Just as the match was starting to heat up, a penalty kick was awarded to the visitors from Leverkusen and L.Reghecampf, after converting it, led his team ahead, and in the 30th minute V.Ibisevic doubled the score after sending the ball into the net from a shot that was previously deflected by the "Bayer" goalkeeper.

However, "Bayer" did not need much time to recover - just before the end of the first half, B.Schneider was able to soften the score with a shot from fifteen meters, and shortly after the break, A.Voroninas restored balance in the match, technically stopping the ball with his chest and sending it into the net. By the way, it is worth mentioning that both times a goal was scored with a pass from the Bosnian player S.Barbarez, who joined the club last summer.

Despite a shaky start, "Bayer" managed to take three points from Aachen - the winning goal for the Leverkusen team was scored by the veteran B.Schneider, who sent the ball to the top corner of the goal with a great penalty kick.

In the other match of the evening, "Werder" won against "Hannover" with a score of 3-0. In the 5th minute of the match, the Bundesliga favorites were brought ahead by a precise header from T.Borowski. Later on, "Hannover" had the chance to score at least two goals, but both times "Werder" was saved by the goalposts.

In the middle of the second half, the Bremen team doubled their advantage - after a second assist from Miroslav Klose, H.Almeida scored a goal. Just a few minutes later, M. Klose himself could have made his mark, but the striker failed to convert a penalty kick. Nevertheless, the victory was soon secured by defender P.Mertesacker, scoring a goal from close range into the net of his former team.
