On Monday evening the second Bundesliga promotion play-off match was played. Bremen's "Werder" played a 2-2 draw away with the second league team "Heidenheim" and secured their place in the Bundesliga competition, as the first match ended in a 0-0 draw. The guests started the match well - already in the 3rd minute, Heidenheim defender Norman Theuerkauf scored an own goal. In the 85th minute, the hosts' hopes revived when Tim Kleindienst equalized the score. In the 94th minute, "Werder" once again took the lead after Ludwig Augustinsson's goal, and although T. Kleindienst scored a penalty kick after three minutes, it was not enough for the Heidenheim team.
