The first victory in almost 40 years in the English Premier League was won by the "Blackpool" club in front of their own fans, defeating "West Brom" 2-1 in the only Monday match.

Already in the 11th minute, the visitors were left with ten men when Pablo Ibanez was sent off for a foul in the penalty area. The penalty awarded by the referee was successfully converted by Charlie Adam.

A little later, Gonzalo Jara also received a red card for a rough foul against Luke Varney, leaving "West Brom" with 9 players.

It was Varney who doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, and a late goal by Youssoufo Mulumbu for "West Brom" did not change the situation significantly.
