After spending seven months at the helm of "West Bromwich Albion," head coach Alan Irvine has been sacked. This news was announced on the official club website.
Currently, WBA is in sixteenth place in the "Premier League" and is only separated from the relegation zone by a few points. The defeat against "Stoke" on Sunday was the seventh in the last nine matches.
Under Irvine's leadership, the team managed to secure only 4 victories in 19 games.
On New Year's Day, "West Brom" will travel to London to face "West Ham United" under the guidance of assistant Rob Kelly. However, club representatives claim that Irvine's successor will be announced this week.
Among the main candidates are former London "Tottenham" manager Tim Sherwood and Tony Pulis, who left "Crystal Palace" at the beginning of the season. Sherwood was close to moving to WBA in the summer, but negotiations broke down because he was asked to find his own assistants.
