What has changed in the history of the National Stadium's construction over the year?

A year has passed since important events occurred in the ongoing construction history of the National Stadium.

In February of last year, the search for a representative of the small arena partner, the "BaltCap" fund, Šarūnas Stepukonis, was announced.

This player, who had squandered at least 27–30 million euros and pushed the construction of the Vilnius stadium work into the distant future, was caught very quickly – just a couple of weeks later.

Later, his intensive supervision in freedom was extended several times, with the final deadline set for March 20, 2025.

If no unforeseen obstacles arise, the case is expected to reach court later this year.

Meanwhile, there are no radical updates from the National Stadium construction.

The Vilnius municipality is still negotiating amendments to the National Stadium concession agreement with the European Commission.

It is speculated that, in an optimistic scenario, a final decision might be expected by June of this year.

The head of the company "Hanner," which intends to build the stadium, Arvydas Avulis, would like to start work within the next six months.
