When ball control doesn't guarantee victory: Chile national team coach drew a colorful comparison.

Overtaking opponents in ball control does not always mean a guaranteed victory or at least a draw. This was evident to Chile's national team coach Jorge Sampaoli, whose players experienced a crushing failure in the World Cup qualifying tournament. The winners of the Copa America suffered a 0:3 defeat to Uruguay, despite controlling the ball for 73 percent of the match time. After the fiasco, J. Sampaoli shared colorful phrases with journalists. "One night I went to a bar with a woman. We didn't talk, we laughed, we flirted, I paid for our drinks. Around 5 a.m., a guy barged into the bar, grabbed the woman by the hand, and took her to the bathroom. She was enamored with the newcomer and left me. It didn't matter that I had been in control all night," the coach said.
