The second half started with a flurry of goals. The first one was equalized by Colombian J.P. Angel, scoring a goal after a great run by Milan Baros and a pass from Gabriel Agbonlahor from the wing. Nevertheless, soon Wigan celebrated a two-goal lead, when H. Camara, through individual mastery, scored two goals in 4 minutes, giving the hosts a two-goal advantage.
In the 67th minute, Aston Villa caught the home team defenders off guard, who tried to play an offside trap and soften the score, but they didn't manage to equalize.
