In the English Premier League, currently occupying 14th place, Wigan has once again secured another Scandinavian player until the end of the season - Norwegian national team defender Kristofer Haestad from IK Start club.
"He is a player who, in my opinion, can play well in this country," - officially stated Wigan coach Paul Jewell on the club's website.
"He can play in any position in the midfield and, at the age of 23, is at the perfect age to test himself in the Premier League," added the coach.
K. Haestad, who has represented the Norwegian national team 11 times, is the second Scandinavian player to join P. Jewell's team in recent days - on Thursday, the club announced an agreement with Helsingborg for the loan of 21-year-old Swedish defender Andreas Granqvist until the end of the season.
However, both players will not play in Wigan's Saturday match against Watford as the transfer window opens only on January 1st.
