Already this evening the fight for the first two positions in the "Bundesliga" championship may be concluded. If Munich's "Bayern" wins or if there is a failure for "Borussia" - they will fight for their fourth consecutive champion's title, while Dortmund's team will finish the season in second place.
This Saturday at the "Allianz Arena" stadium, the hosts will only need a victory, but it certainly won't be given to them - today, their opponents are not only fighting for a spot in the Champions League matches, but are one of the two teams that have already defeated the Vokietijos club this season in front of the "Bayern" German championship. In Round 15, "Gladbach" defeated the Bavarians at home 3-1 and for the first time this season left them without points. Looking at "Bayern" matches on all fronts, "Gladbach", along with "Arsenal," are the only teams that defeated the German club this season by a two-goal margin, and today's visitors are the only ones who scored three goals against the German champions in one match.
"Gladbach" currently sits in fifth place in the championship, and tonight there will be another match that will be important for them and could determine the final Champions League ticket holders. Berlin's "Hertha", currently in fourth place and leading by just a few points against their closest competitors, will try to resist Leverkusen's "Bayer" footballers in an away match. Recently, these teams have demonstrated completely different results - rising to third place from eighth, "Bayer" has won six consecutive matches, while "Hertha" has only gained a point in the last four rounds. The capital team, which recently firmly held its position in the fight for the Champions League, could lose this position as early as today, and in the event of a victory for "Bayer," they will secure a ticket to the most prestigious European competitions.
This evening, Dortmund's "Borussia" will also step onto the field, hosting the recently poorly performing "Wolfsburg" team in the "Bundesliga" championship, which has dropped to tenth place in the standings and could even lose its last hopes of participating in the Europa League next year. Such a performance for the team that finished second last year is certainly not something that would bring joy and positive emotions.
