Dutch national team forward Ruud van Nistelrooy hopes to return to action after the end of the World Cup.
The 29-year-old striker's future at the club became uncertain after he left the stadium during the last season's match against Charlton, as the team's head coach Sir Alex Ferguson did not send him onto the field. He also clashed with his teammate, Portuguese national team forward Cristiano Ronaldo. Luckily, both players have since forgotten about that incident.
"I have a two-year valid contract with Man Utd and only unless someone tells me otherwise, then I would leave Old Trafford, but if not, I will return to Man Utd and participate in preseason training," he said.
Last season, Manchester United finished second in the English Championship and reached the final tournament of the Champions League, but the club experienced a setback in the prestigious European tournament and finished last in the group stage.
