After long negotiations before the start of the Russian championship in Samara, where a Lithuanian player is playing, they reached an agreement with long-time Ukrainian national team defender Andrii Husin for a one-year contract.
The 32-year-old defender, who has been a free agent since leaving Kyiv after nine years in winter, was sought after by the club. President of "Krylja Sovetov" German Tkachenka revealed to journalists that they have been interested in the experienced player, who has represented the national team 51 times, for a long time: "We wanted to acquire him last year, but his contract only ended at the end of 2004."
"Andrii is a prominent and experienced player," Tkachenka said. "He can play both as a defensive midfielder and as a center-back. Husin will definitely strengthen our defense and balance the game. We are happy to have acquired a player of his caliber."
