FA Cup continued on Monday evening with the third stage, after which another participant of the sixteenth finals was revealed.
"Wolves" welcomed "Liverpool" at their stadium, who decided to play this match with an experimental lineup. Jurgen Klopp had to accept his second consecutive defeat, and "Liverpool" ended their second appearance in the cup after the third stage.
"Wolves" broke through in the 38th minute, when Raul Jimenez sprinted from the right flank and scored with a precise shot past Simon Mignolet.
However, in the second half, "Liverpool" managed to equalize - Divock Origi scored the equalizing goal in the 51st minute. The hosts quickly responded to their opponent's goal - just four minutes later, Ruben Neves unleashed a long-range "bomb" and returned the advantage to the hosts.
Later, J. Klopp introduced Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, but even this duo could not help the "Liverpool" team extend their journey in the FA Cup.
Result:
"Wolves" 2 - 1 "Liverpool"
38' [1 - 0] R. Jimenez
51' [1 - 1] D. Origi
55' [2 - 1] R. Neves
