After the match between Portugal and Germany, criticism arrows were directed at the referee, but football fans noticed a gesture from Raul Meireles. At first glance, it looks like the Portuguese player is showing the middle finger, but we can see that R.Meireles is actually pointing to his muscles.

Germany's media giant "Bild" mocked the best footballer Cristiano Ronaldo of the planet after the thrilling victory of the German national team against Portugal by posting a photo of the crying Portuguese and including "hat-trick" scorer Thomas Muller at the bottom.

The Monday night match between Ghana and the USA footballers was memorable for American striker Clint Dempsey, who scored the first goal in the 30th second. He became the fifth fastest goalscorer in a World Cup.

15min.lt. German national team defender Thomas Mueller: "I would like to see a replay of the episode when Pepe had to leave the field. I hope it looked good on my part. I felt Pepe hit me with his fist, but I can't say for sure what happened next. I hope it didn't look foolish. I didn't want to provoke anything, but I'm not 100% sure how everything looked."

The German celebrated his goals: "Three goals in the first match against such a team is a fantastic achievement and I'm happy about it. I have stood out in world football for the past four years and you won't scare me that quickly."

T.Mueller also complained that the game quickly heats up due to the heat: "After 20 minutes on the field, I realized that these matches would be especially long. When the sun heats up like that, it's very difficult to play - especially when you don't have the ball."
