In Qatar, the long-awaited sporting event - the World Football Championship, will begin.
Before the first match of the tournament between the Qatar national team and the Ecuadorian national team, a grand opening ceremony will take place at the "Al Bayt" Arena in Al Khor.
As reported by the media, initially this event was planned for November 21, but it was ultimately decided not to break traditions and start the ceremony before the first championship match, which usually involves either the host team or the defending champion team.
A year ago, 60,000 spectators could watch matches in the football venue of Al Khor.
Here, a total of group stage matches will be played, as well as one match each in the quarterfinals and semi-finals.
During Sunday's ceremony, performances will be given by well-known local singers Dana, Fahad Al-Kubaisi, and Ghannim Al Muftah. Last week it was announced that South Korean artist BTS Jungkook will also arrive in the Middle Eastern state.
