The injury of Bayern Munich defender Willy Sagnol is more serious than initially thought - it's officially announced that the footballer won't be able to play until almost September.
As we have already reported, the 30-year-old Frenchman injured his meniscus during the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals against "Milan."
Initially, doctors predicted that W. Sagnol would probably not return to the field this season, but would be able to start training again at the beginning of summer with full force.
However, after thorough examinations, it turned out that the defender will definitely be out for at least four months.
This season, W. Sagnol was undoubtedly one of the most important pillars of the "Bayern" defense - he started in 23 matches in the German championship and in 9 Champions League matches. He managed to score once.
Meanwhile, the return leg between "AC Milan" and "Bayern" will take place next Wednesday in Munich.
