In the German media today there are reports that 35-year-old Bayern Munich goalkeeper Xabi Alonso is playing his last season in his football career.
According to "Bild", the former Spanish national team goalkeeper has informed the Bavarians that he will not sign a new contract and will hang up his football boots this summer.
X. Alonso arrived at Bayern for 10 million euros in 2014, when he decided to part ways with Real Madrid after six seasons. In less than three seasons in Munich, the Spaniard has already played almost 100 matches and scored nine goals.
One of the best defensive midfielders of the past decade has also left his mark on the history of Real Madrid and Liverpool clubs. X. Alonso played more than 200 matches in each of these clubs and won two UEFA Champions League trophies.
X. Alonso started his career at Real Sociedad in San Sebastián, where he played 123 matches.
In total, throughout his entire career, the Spaniard has already played 691 matches.
