Xabi Alonso, linked with European giants, will remain at Bayer Leverkusen's helm at least for another season.
This was announced by the Spanish strategist during a press conference held on Friday.
"I had a meeting with the club officials, where I informed them that I am staying with the team. There were a lot of speculations about my future, so during the national team break, I wanted to make a final decision. I am where I feel best right now.
My job at Bayer Leverkusen is not finished. I want to continue helping this club and players to improve further.
I am still a young coach and I believe that for now, the best decision is to stay in Leverkusen. I am confident about this decision.
I will not comment on rumors about Liverpool and Bayern. They are huge clubs with which I have a great relationship, but for now, I am where I want to be," X. Alonso said.
