Former Spanish national team star Xabi Alonso has revealed that he will start a coaching career.
The 35-year-old Spaniard hung up his boots at the end of last season, during which he won the German championship title with Bayern Munich.
Previously, the defender has represented such giants as Real Madrid and Liverpool.
"After 17 years in this game, I have considered the next step in my career," Alonso shared in a message on Instagram.
"I have decided to become a coach. You will find out soon where I will work."
As a footballer, Alonso also won the UEFA Champions League twice, once La Liga, and a total of three Bundesliga titles. With the national team of his country, he became a world champion in 2010.
