Former teammate of Dani Alves, Xavi, believes that the 34-year-old veteran is still the best right-back in the world.
The legendary Spanish national team defender played alongside the Brazilian for a number of years, so he knows him very well.
As the defender is nearing a move to Manchester City, Xavi sees no reason why he couldn't continue to play at the highest level for a few more years.
"Age is not everything," Xavi said. "To me, he is still the best right-back in the world."
"Barcelona missed him this season, and he recently had an incredible season with Juventus."
"He is a good friend. I know how hard he works and how carefully he takes care of himself."
"He is in good shape and can still compete at the highest level for a few more years."
The fact that Alves has signed a two-year contract with Manchester City is already common knowledge. In England, he will once again work with coach Pep Guardiola.
