Xavi: I don't want to be angry with "Arsenal", but the situation with Fabregas is absurd © EuroFootball.com

Saugas Xavi insists he does not want to get involved in a war of words with London strategist Arsene Wenger over the future of Cesc Fabregas.

Last week, Wenger accused Xavi of disrespect when he stated that Fabregas is suffering by not being able to return to the Barcelona team.

Xavi responded: "I was simply representing the interests of Cesc and Barça. The situation seems absurd to me. However, it is what it is, I definitely don't want to get involved in a war of words with Wenger. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

I don't know the exact situation, but it seems that Arsenal are more inclined to negotiate this summer than before."

On Tuesday, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola confirmed that they will "fight until the end" for Fabregas.
