Xavi insists that Zlatan Ibrahimović failed to shine in Catalonia not because of the attacking team's football.
The 29-year-old forward arrived in Barcelona in the summer of 2009, but could not establish himself and clashed with "Milan" the following season. Initially, the Swede was loaned out, and this year he signed a long-term contract for 24 million euros.
"Zlatan is anarchic, and in Barcelona he has to play for the team for the entire 90 minutes," Xavi told "Gazzetta dello Sport". "His style of play is more suitable for Italy, where teams have six or seven defensive players and three who can focus solely on the attack.
We wrote to Ibrahimović. He is very happy in Milan, and he was here as well, but "Barcelona" plays differently."
The forward could not take to the field in Tuesday's Champions League match, in which "Barcelona" and "Milan" were competing, as he is nursing an injury.
