Xavi: "Messi can play until the age of 40"

Former long-time teammate of Lionel Messi, Xavi, believes that the Argentinean will continue to amaze football fans for many more years, as he predicts that he may play football until he is 40.

Celebrating his 31st birthday this summer, L. Messi not only does not slow down his pace on the field, but continues to demonstrate impressive gameplay and results.

Many have noticed that L. Messi has changed his playing style and now plays more as a creator midfielder, but his sharp breakthroughs and combinations with teammates continue to be present.

"Sometimes I think he can play until 38, 39 or even 40. He just needs a little bit to achieve that," said Xavi.

"What do you lose as you get older? Speed? I only know that he will not lose his ability to read the game quickly. Messi is simply unmatched by anyone else," the midfielder continued.

Asked about Messi's positional play, Xavi said: "I think he can play in any position on the field. He currently plays closer to the center and is very effective there. Due to his intelligence, he can easily adapt to defensive work."
