Xavi prepares to leave the "Barcelona" team and move to Qatar

“Barcelona” is truly turning a new page. After Carles Puyol and Victor Valdes, another team leader is preparing to leave the Catalan club this summer.

Goalkeeper Xavi, who has played the most matches (723) in a “Barcelona” jersey throughout history, is set to continue his career in Qatar next season.

The 34-year-old Spaniard, known as the brains of “Barcelona”, still has a two-year contract with the Catalan club. However, according to Qatar-owned TV channel “beIN Sports”, the footballer has already decided to move to “Al-Sadd” club.

“We should talk together about what he wants and what we want,” - explained the new “Barcelona” coach Luis Enrique during his official presentation in May 21st.

According to the Qatar TV channel, Xavi and Luis Enrique have already had a discussion and the former leader did not receive guarantees that he would be a central figure in the new “Barcelona” team project. Xavi decided to leave the club where he grew up and spent his entire professional football career.
