Xavi insists that the victory against Madrid once again proves the club's dominance in Spanish football. In the first "El Clasico" of the season in the Spanish capital, the Catalans celebrated a 3-1 victory.

"We clearly outperformed 'Real' tonight," the midfielder told "La Sexta." "We wanted to be brave in this stadium, because we understood that otherwise we wouldn't win. We played excellently in all aspects - we are much stronger than the Madrid team."

"Real" scored the first goal within a minute, but later failed to withstand the attacks of "Barcelona."

Xavi continued: "Goalkeeper Victor Valdes made a big mistake at the beginning, but didn't lose his composure and played excellently. I am very happy with the victory. We are definitely stronger."

Together with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, the Spaniard is a candidate to become the best FIFA football player of 2011. He specifically awards the title to the Argentinean: "Me? No, Messi truly deserves this prize, without a doubt."
