Xavi, who left 'Barcelona' against his will, turned down huge money

Xavi's season was really difficult. Seeing in the middle of the season that it would be hard to achieve the set goals, he decided to leave the team. However, afterwards both his opinion and the actions of the "Barca" management changed.

With this decision Xavi seemed to have come to an agreement with Joan Laporta, the president of "Barca". However, a few months later Laporta already wanted the club legend to stay at the helm of the main team.

In the changing saga, J. Laporta changed his mind again. The president of the Catalan club finally fired Xavi, who would have wanted to finish his contract.

According to Spanish journalist Amarti Herrero, Xavi, who left the Catalan club, refused his last year's salary of up to 11 million euros. The strategist could have asked the club to pay him this amount, as the contract was terminated early, but he did not do so.

"Barcelona" will only pay 2.5 million euros to their legend, which he paid back when returning to his old team from a Qatari club, immediately as a coach.
