38-year-old French footballer Youri Djorkaeff has announced the end of his career. The 1998 World Cup winner and 2000 European champion ended his career in the United States, playing for New York Red Bulls. "I think it's time to step down. My physical form is still good, but it's harder with my psychological state," said the Frenchman, calling the 1998 World Cup title his biggest achievement in life. Djorkaeff began his career in 1984 at Grenoble in France, then played for Strasbourg, Monaco, and PSG clubs. In 1996, he moved to Italy and played for Inter for three years, followed by representing Kaiserslautern in Germany from 1999-2002. From 2004, he played for Bolton and Blackburn in England, and then joined the New York Red Bulls in the MLS last year. "I achieved in my career what I wanted - playing in all the top European football leagues," said the midfielder who played for the French national team 82 times and scored 28 goals.
