"Manchester City" defender Yaya Toure won the vote for the best African football player of 2015.
He became only the third player to receive this recognition twice - previously, this honor was bestowed upon Nigerians Nwankwo Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha.
In the fan polls, Toure had previously triumphed in 2013, and last year the best player on the continent was Yacine Brahimi.
This time, the 32-year-old Ivory Coast national team member surpassed the impressive form shown by Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Senegalese Sadio Mane, Andre Ayew from Ghana, and the aforementioned last year's laureate from Algeria.
It is worth mentioning that Ayew, a member of "Swansea City", also contended for the second award - he was named the best in 2011. Meanwhile, Aubameyang was nominated for the third time among the five candidates, and Mane's nomination was his first.
"I am very proud. To receive such recognition from the fans is unbelievable", - Toure told BBC Sport.
"I also want to express my respect to the other nominees. African football is growing and improving, and right now we have fantastic young players."
