Young Jesse: Mourinho did not give me a chance © EuroFootball.com

Madrid's "Real" club's young defender Jese Rodriguez is convinced that former team strategist Jose Mourinho did not appreciate him enough.

The 20-year-old footballer is considered one of the brightest stars of the Madrid team's academy, and his playing style is compared to Cristiano Ronaldo.

This season, playing for the reserve team of "los Blancos", J. Rodriguez scored 22 goals in 38 matches, but he was not allowed to play for the main team.

"Last year, the club management thought they didn't need young players in the main team, and Mourinho wanted to buy other players. I think I deserve a chance. Now that Mourinho is gone, I will wait and see what changes when the new coach arrives," the defender said.

"Coach Alberto Toril together with Aitor Karanka were very important at the beginning of my career. I thank them for their work this season, they taught me a lot.

In the main team, I get along with many players - Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas, Alvaro Morata, Xabi Alonso. I spend most of my time with Ramos.

It's impossible not to admire Cristiano Ronaldo. He is one of the best in the world and I have a lot to learn from him," admitted the promising footballer.
