For the first time in his career, the 34-year-old striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who arrived in England last summer, believes that he can demonstrate a similar level of performance in the upcoming season.
The former captain of the Swedish national team confirmed in a recent interview that he is successfully negotiating with Manchester United regarding the extension of his contract. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker shook hands with the "Red Devils" last summer for a one-year contract, but it included the possibility of extending it for another season.
According to Z. Ibrahimovic, this possibility will most likely be used, as he feels happy in Manchester and believes he can bring a lot more benefit to the club.
"We'll see what happens - we are in the negotiation process," Z. Ibrahimovic told the "Manchester Evening News". "I have the opportunity to stay here for another year. I want to do a good job here for as long as possible. So, we have to wait and see how everything will turn out - there is still plenty of time left."
"There is no doubt that I am enjoying the opportunity to play for such a great club. This is one of the best clubs in the world, with an excellent coach. I know him well - he is a winner, which is exactly what this club needs," concluded the striker.
The Swedish football legend played 41 matches in his first season at Man Utd, scoring 26 goals and providing 9 assists.
