Z. Ibrahimovic wanted to end his career in the summer © JumpStory

Last January, Zlatan Ibrahimović, who joined AC Milan, despite his solid age, became a true leader of the team's attack. This season, the 39-year-old striker has already scored 10 goals in the Serie A championship and significantly contributes to his team being at the top of the standings. However, the player himself admitted that last summer he had decided to end his career. "After the season, the team's coach Stefano Pioli asked me what I planned to do. I said I was ready to retire. In Milan, I was without my family and did not want to sacrifice anymore," Ibrahimović shared. Pioli said he respected my decision. The next day, we had a similar conversation again, and I said I would not change my decision. However, I later felt that I did not want to regret this decision. I called the club representatives and said I was ready to stay. Nevertheless, my initial decision was to retire from football. This was not the first time I thought about the end of my career. I had similar thoughts when playing for Manchester United," Ibrahimović told Sky Sport Italia.
