18-month professional coach Zinedine Zidane has already managed to win two major titles at Real Madrid - triumphing in both the UEFA Champions League and the Spanish La Liga.
On Sunday, the 2016-17 La Liga season in Spain concluded, with the title race going down to the wire. Real Madrid players were in control of the situation and a victory in Malaga secured the title after a five-year hiatus.
Z. Zidane does not take credit for all the success of this season and states that the amazing atmosphere created by the players themselves was the key to success this season.
“The key to success was the whole group of players, who were unified throughout the season,” said the coach. “We worked hard all season and achieved something really special. Fighting for a title in such a long season is truly challenging.”
“For me, this is the happiest day of my coaching career. The final weeks of the championship were very tough, but we won against all possible opponents and became champions. I am proud of my team.
“Every player deserves praise for this season. They listened to me and did a great job. Many of the players here have already won it all, but the La Liga title is the best thing you can achieve,” added Z. Zidane.
Real Madrid will have the opportunity to win their second trophy of the season on June 3. In the UEFA Champions League final, the "Whites" will face Turin's Juventus.
Z. Zidane was warmly welcomed by several of his team's players during the press conference:
