"Real" Madrid club after an impressive streak of 40 unbeaten matches fell into a slump - they suffered two consecutive losses. The head coach of the team, Zinedine Zidane, does not make a tragedy out of it, and defends the main star of the team, Cristiano Ronaldo, from criticism.
"Real" suffered their first defeat in the Spanish "La Liga" championship last weekend, and in the middle of the week, they lost to Celta Vigo in the quarterfinals of the King's Cup.
There has been quite a bit of criticism lately towards Cristiano Ronaldo, who has not been shining on the field. However, Zidane is not quick to blame his star player and asserts that he will always be an integral part of the team.
"Cristiano will always be criticized. If he doesn't stand out, plays in a different position, and so on - all the criticism will fall on him. I know that he doesn't think about it and is focused entirely on the match against Malaga," Zidane said.
"He will always be the player who makes the team unique. It's normal that sometimes he doesn't play well, it happened to me too. The important thing is not to stop and continue working on the field," the strategist continued.
Zidane also commented on the situation with Danilo, who will have to replace the injured Dani Carvajal in the near future, but the Brazilian's performances do not convince the team's fans.
"Criticism towards Danilo is not fair. It's not just because he was booed by the fans, but also because of what the media writes about him. He is a professional and 100% focused on football. I know he will improve his performance on the field," concluded the legendary Frenchman.
Tomorrow in the Spanish championship, "Real" will play against "Malaga" in an away game.
